Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Trusted Health Choices (www.trustedhealthchoices.com) collects, why, and what rights you have.
Who we are
Trusted Health Choices is an independent health-product review website based in Ireland. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, Trusted Health Choices is the data controller for the personal data described here. "We" and "us" mean Trusted Health Choices. You can contact us about anything in this policy through our Contact page.
For any question about this policy or your data, please use our Contact page (https://www.trustedhealthchoices.com/contact).
What data we collect and why
• Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can read and reply to you.
• Newsletter: your email address and, if you choose, your first name, so we can send you the newsletter and greet you by name.
• Member accounts: the details needed to create and run your account, such as your email address and login details, plus any profile details you choose to add.
• Cookies and analytics: Wix sets cookies and collects site analytics, such as pages viewed, device and browser type and approximate location, so the site works securely and we can see which content is useful.
We do not collect health information through our forms. Please don't include details about your own or anyone else's health in a message. If you do, we'll only use them to reply to you.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for automated decisions that significantly affect you.
Our legal bases
• Newsletter: consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us.
• Contact form: legitimate interests, namely replying to people who write to us. If your message concerns your member account, we rely on contract.
• Member accounts: contract, as we need these details to provide the account you asked for.
• Cookies: strictly necessary cookies are used because the site can't work without them. Other cookies, such as analytics, are used only with your consent where the law requires it.
Wix, our host and processor
The site is built and hosted on Wix. Wix.com Ltd acts as our data processor: it stores and processes data on our behalf, under a data processing agreement, to run the site, forms, member accounts and analytics. We don't share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
International transfers
Wix.com Ltd is based in Israel, which the European Commission recognises as giving adequate protection to personal data. Wix also uses sub-processors, some in the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers are protected by recognised safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or, for certified providers, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep your data
• Contact messages: up to 12 months after we've dealt with your message, unless needed longer for a complaint or legal claim.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep only what's needed to make sure we don't email you again.
• Member accounts: while your account is open. We delete the account data when you close it or ask us to.
• Analytics: for the periods set by Wix's analytics tools.
Cookies
Some Wix cookies are strictly necessary; others help us understand how the site is used. Where a cookie banner is shown, you can use it to accept or refuse non-essential cookies and change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, although parts of the site may then not work properly.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
• access your personal data and get a copy
• rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
• erasure of your data in certain circumstances
• restriction of how we use your data in certain circumstances
• portability: receive data you gave us in a common machine-readable format, where we rely on consent or contract
• object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before
To use these rights, contact us through our Contact page (https://www.trustedhealthchoices.com/contact). We may need to confirm your identity, and we'll reply within one month. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to Ireland's Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie, or to the data protection authority where you live or work in the EU or EEA.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child under 16 has given us personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we add new features. We'll post the new version here and change the date below. If a change is significant, we'll make that clear on the site.
